The End of the Civic Type-R

Now as we reported on the rumored demise of the Civic Type-R hatch, Honda has announced it will phase out the Civic Type-R sedan making 220bhp within the next week and a half as it begins to wind down production of the 4-door sedan model. Honda blamed the 4-door Type R’s demise on a slow and sluggish market. While production of the 3-door Type-R hatch is still going strong, one wonders exactly what this means to the rest of the Type-R lineup.

Honda showed to Detroit a new Civic concepts

Honda Motor showed on the Detroit Motor Show conceptual version of a sedan and coupe 2012 Honda Civic.

The 9th generation of one of the most popular compact cars in the world became less and easier the predecessor and received expressive, aggressive design with a sports bias. Technical details of a new Civic are not disclosed yet, they become known more close to the beginning of sales in the USA, planned in this year.

In the USA, updated version of Hyundai Elantra becomes the basic competitor to Honda Civic. The most popular car in the country remains a Honda Accord: 346,000 cars sold in 2010.

Honda Motor lays off Legend and Elysion

Honda Motor prepares changes in a ruler of the cars to give more attention to release of harmless and accessible at the price of cars, newspaper Nikkei informs.

Legend & Elysion must have a hybrids!

Two expensive cars — Honda Legend sedan and Honda Elysion minivan — will be stoped. In the Japanese car market, since 2011 sales of the classical version of Honda Civic will be stopped, on sale there will be only a hybrid version.

Honda Legend remains on sale only in the US car market under Acura RL brand name.
